Compressor
Satsuma Squash
Sweet sustain. Natural sparkle.
Satsuma Squash is a guitar compressor for the space between control and expression. It steadies clean rhythm parts, gives picked lines an easy, singing sustain and adds presence without turning every note into the same note. The result is polished but never anonymous: a familiar kind of squeeze, made for a modern session.
Design philosophy
The little orange box with a lasting influence
Satsuma Squash takes its inspiration from a celebrated compact guitar compressor of the 1970s—an unassuming orange box that found its way onto some of the era's most distinctive clean guitar recordings. Its appeal lies in the way compression, sustain and a subtle lift in presence arrive as one musical gesture. We are translating that character into a focused software processor: responsive to the pick, flattering to clean chords and capable of helping a lead line bloom without sanding away its personality.
