This policy explains how Optymyse Audio, a division of Optymyse Ltd, handles personal information when you visit our website, use our iPhone and iPad app, contact us or, once sales open, buy our software. Optymyse Ltd is the controller of the personal information we use for these purposes.
Information we collect
- Messages you send us: your email address, name if supplied, and the content of your enquiry.
- Technical information: basic server and security logs such as IP address, browser type, requested page, timestamp and diagnostic data.
- Purchase information: when checkout becomes available, Paddle may send us order, product, licence and customer details needed to fulfil and support your purchase. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details.
How we use information
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, provide products and support, administer licences, keep the website secure, diagnose faults, meet legal and accounting obligations, and improve our services. We process this information where necessary to perform a contract, pursue our legitimate business interests, comply with law, or where you have given consent.
Service providers and sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where necessary with service providers that help operate the business, including Cloudflare for website hosting, security and delivery, and Paddle for checkout, payments, tax, fraud prevention and order administration. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect legal rights.
Paddle acts as an independent controller for the information it uses as merchant of record. See Paddle's Privacy Notice and Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. If you buy from the Darkglass Anagram Marketplace or another external store, its privacy notice applies to that purchase.
Cookies
This marketing website does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. Essential technologies may be used for security and delivery. When Paddle checkout is introduced, Paddle may use cookies or similar technologies needed to operate checkout and prevent fraud; relevant details will be presented through its checkout and privacy information.
Buffalo One for iPhone and iPad
Buffalo One is provided by Optymyse Ltd under the Optymyse Audio brand. The app and its Audio Unit extension process audio locally on your device. They do not send your instrument or microphone audio to Optymyse, record it to an audio file, or include advertising, tracking or analytics SDKs.
The standalone app requests microphone permission so it can receive audio from the input selected by iOS, including a connected audio interface or the built-in microphone. You can change this permission in iOS Settings. In an Audio Unit host, the host supplies the audio to the extension and manages its own permissions and recording features.
Presets and settings are saved locally by the app, the Audio Unit system or the host. When you import or export a preset, it is read from or written to the location you choose. A cloud storage provider selected in Files may sync that file under its own privacy terms. Optymyse does not receive those files automatically. Removing the app removes its local data, subject to Apple's backup and restore behaviour; exported files and host projects remain wherever you saved them.
App Store purchases are processed by Apple under Apple's privacy terms. Visiting our website or emailing audio@optymyse.com is covered by the rest of this policy. If you send us a preset, recording or diagnostic information for support, we receive only the material you choose to send and use it to handle your enquiry. You can contact audio@optymyse.com about privacy or deletion of support correspondence.
International transfers and security
Our service providers may process information outside the UK. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for international transfers. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, including support, security, tax, accounting and legal requirements. Enquiries that do not lead to an ongoing relationship are deleted when no longer reasonably needed.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict use of your personal information, object to certain processing, request portability, or withdraw consent. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or your local data-protection authority.

We may update this policy as our services develop. The latest version will always appear on this page with its effective date.
