The Big Rig turns parallel bass processing into one focused workflow, combining Buffalo One, Vector Gate, Empire Squeeze and Long Haul in one complete package. Balance both paths, shape the blended output with the crossover high-pass filter, then feed the built-in Long Haul amp and cabinet stage. Choose from ten microphone types to shape the final perspective.
Design philosophy
Parallel processing, designed as one instrument
The Big Rig brings Buffalo One, Vector Gate, Empire Squeeze and Long Haul together in one complete parallel bass environment. Buffalo One provides the core sound, Channel 1 adds Vector Gate's adaptive noise reduction and Channel 2 adds the responsive dynamics of Empire Squeeze. Blend both paths, shape the output with the crossover high-pass filter, then feed the built-in Long Haul bass amp. Its circuit-modelled amplifier is inspired by the Hartke LH1000, with an optional HyDrive 115 cabinet stage and ten microphone choices.

The complete rig is founded on Buffalo One's distinctive preamp tone, response and authority.
Channel 1: Vector Gate
Apply adaptive noise reduction to the first parallel path while preserving articulation, tight stops and natural sustain.
Channel 2: Empire Squeeze
Add the complete Empire Squeeze processor to the second path for responsive dynamics and a controlled foundation.
Output crossover
Apply a high-pass filter to the blended output before it reaches Long Haul's amp and cabinet stage.
Long Haul built in
Complete the chain with Long Haul's circuit-modelled bass amp and optional HyDrive 115 cabinet stage.
Ten microphone choices
Select from ten distinct microphone types to shape the final perspective, presence and low-end character.
