Parallel Bass Rig

The Big Rig

Build the bass sound around the performance.

The Big Rig turns parallel bass processing into one focused workflow, with Queen City Drive providing the core sound of the entire system. From that foundation, Channel 1 adds Vector Gate for adaptive noise control while Channel 2 adds Empire Squeeze for responsive dynamics and a solid foundation. Balance both paths, shape the blended output with the crossover high-pass filter, then send it through captured amp and cabinet tone with ten microphone types for defining the final perspective.

Design philosophy

Parallel processing, designed as one instrument

The Big Rig is built around Queen City Drive as its core sound, carrying that distinctive preamp character into a flexible parallel architecture. Channel 1 adds the adaptive noise reduction of Vector Gate, while Channel 2 adds the responsive dynamics of Empire Squeeze. Blend both paths, then use the output crossover high-pass filter to shape the signal feeding the captured amplification and cabinet stage.

Inside the processor

Designed to do the important things beautifully.

Queen City Drive at the core

The complete rig is founded on Queen City Drive's distinctive preamp tone, response and authority.

Channel 1 — Vector Gate

Apply adaptive noise reduction to the first parallel path while preserving articulation, tight stops and natural sustain.

Channel 2 — compression

Add the complete Empire Squeeze processor to the second path for responsive dynamics and a controlled foundation.

Output crossover

Apply a high-pass filter to the blended output before it reaches the captured amp and cabinet stage.

Captured amp & cabinet

Complete the chain with captured amplification and cabinet tone, voiced for weight, definition and full-range authority.

Ten microphone choices

Select from ten distinct microphone types to shape the final perspective, presence and low-end character.
